In the context of Europe is aiming for trustworthy and human-centred AI solutions and applications. These can be achieved with the strong development of the ecosystem of trust and the ecosystem of excellence.
The AI4EU session brings you insights from one of the most renowned experts in AI, Prof Barry O’Sullivan, to discuss with you "Towards a Science of Trustworthy AI".
A short session of "Uniting European AI resources with AI4EU On-Demand Platform" follows to bring you what is available for the European AI ecosystems including the ecosystem of excellence, which are centres and institutions striving toward excellence in the development and application of AI in socio-economic environments.
The Belgian AI Week aims to share concrete actions and projects in the field of artificial intelligence with the public through locally anchored organizations such as universities and incubators.
It is also the intention to promote cooperation between all relevant players in the field of artificial intelligence in our country. Also, the organizers are trying to position Belgium as a leading player in the global AI landscape.
During this week, every Belgian and European will get the chance to discover the dazzling world of artificial intelligence in Belgium and other member state countries in the EU. The audience can expect fascinating presentations, thematic workshops, the announcement of new research results, debates with citizen panels and a real 'Digital Assembly' on the second anniversary of AI4Belgium.
The week is designed to bring some answers to the questions including: How do we want to use artificial intelligence in our society? How do we use new technologies in an ethically and democratically responsible way? What role should the government play in the development of artificial intelligence? How does the AI start-up & scaleup landscape evolve in our country?
In the five days, the flows of the keynote, citizen debates, thematic workshops, and publication formats of the events will stimulate a broad social debate on the role of artificial intelligence. Debates with citizen panels are organized in different cities on questions like what is the impact of artificial intelligence on employment? How will education evolve? And how do we ensure that AI applications are reliable?
Defining recommendations for the government together look at how citizens’ experience AI technology and allow them to propose concrete actions or projects themselves in the framework of the national AI action plan. This way, everyone can have an impact on how new technologies are applied in the future, and collectively shape the far-reaching digitization wave that was started by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Inspiring international experts will explain the latest trends in artificial intelligence and in thematic workshops, they will inspire participants with 'real life' AI applications. Meanwhile, AI in countries introduce new reports including the application of AI in businesses, hospitals, and laboratories, and to map out the Belgian start-ups and scaleups that specialize in artificial intelligence.
